Drop everything now! Taylor Swift seems to be having as much success in the streaming department as she does in her love life. The pop queen has been recently spotted with Travis Kelce, building a new chapter in her love story, and simultaneously was also able to earn another Spotify record. It looks like her eighth studio album,“folklore,” still sounds super fresh, with it hitting 6-billion streams on the music platform.
Tay-Tay dropped “folklore” on July 23, 2020, and most of the weight on the album went to its first single, the lovely indie ballad, “Cardigan.” After its release, the record received critical acclaim and went on to get the Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category – as it should. No wonder this record is now such a fan favorite at this point.
Thanks to this achievement, “folklore” now joins her sisters “Reputation,” “1989,” “Red” and “Speak Now” on the impressive record! That’s right, Taylor Swift has been able to pull off the 6-billion stream mark for all of those albums, with her 2020 album being the latest addition to the quintessential Taylor catalog.
Folklore has won over the hearts of millions of Tay’s fans, also known as Swifties, thanks to its sweet melodies, introspective lyrics and honest stories. This is a testament to how Taylor’s reign just becomes bigger and bigger with every year into her career. Unsuprisngly, our pop queen getting this huge record again just proves how massive she is in the current era, as very few artist have been able to reach a similar mark in streaming services.
Congrats Taylor! And let us know what your fav song on “folklore” is.
