DC franchise has been the talk of the town for the mishaps along the way that brought atrocious consequences for the popularity of their movies and shows. However, James Gunn always shows resilience and confirmed a new DC Universe canon, explaining that John Cena and Xolo Maridueña are going to be back.
The latest confusion about the future of the franchise was addressed by James Gunn who understands the assignment of keeping apprised on the latest developments regarding TV Shows and movies.
In addition, the co-CEO of DC expressed his thoughts and clarified the situation by releasing a short statement on social media:
“Nothing is canon until Creature Commandos next year, and then a deeper dive into the universe with Superman: Legacy after that.” Then, he answered some questions about the concerns of the fans.
“And, yes, some actors will be playing characters they’ve played in other stories & some plot points might be consistent with plot points from the dozens of films, shows & animated projects that have come from DC in the past. But nothing is canon until CC and Legacy.”
James Gunn also addressed ‘Blue Bettle’s future, as was released previous to the start of the new Universe of DC. “Xolo Maridueña will continue playing Blue Beetle in the DCU, as Viola Davis will Amanda Waller, and John Cena will Peacemaker.”
This news were greatly received by DC fans because they wanted to keep watching their favorite actors and actress to reprise their roles into the new DC Universe which starts after ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ premieres on December 20.
