A few months ago the internet world was shocked with the news of the sad loss of a very young actor who was reaching a great point in his career.
Angus Cloud passed away recently but it has been until a few weeks ago that the toxicology analysis was revealed informing the cause of his death, but now it has been the creator of the hit series Euphoria, where Angus was acting, where he mentioned what he saw on the filming set due to drug abuse.
‘Euphoria’ creator spoke about Angus Cloud’s experience and his struggle with drugs on set
Sam Levinson has stated that, regarding Angus’ struggle, he had to modify all the original plans for the character he played, for example, he intended to kill “Fezco” in season 1, but he had to modify his plans because he became so involved with the actor’s life and his struggle:
‘The first thing I noticed about him was that he had those Paul Newman eyes, and on his audition tape when he said his name was Angus and that he was five feet, nine inches tall it killed me, he was perfect. So I just thought ‘Ok. I can’t kill him what’s in it for him?”
He further stated that Cloud’s drug dependency significantly influenced the production of the series, as he himself decided to drive him in his car to a rehab center after having a poignant conversation with him on one occasion:
‘I looked him in the eye and all of a sudden I knew it wasn’t right. I’ve been in situations before where you’re trying to get someone clean, and I said I love working with him, we have this wonderful season planned, and I need you to be okay because I have to be able to count on you.’
