Shakira could face an arrest warrant from the Spanish justice system

Shakira has been involved in many scandals lately, not only for the great songs she has released, but also for alleged legal problems she might be facing.

First she was accused of allegedly plagiarizing the choreography of her new song, El Jefe, then it was said that Pique’s family might be thinking of suing her, but now, for another fact, Colombian singer Shakira could be facing an arrest by the Spanish justice system.

A few years ago, the iconic Colombian singer was involved in scandals with the Spanish Treasury, a fact that she even mentions in one of her most famous songs, but apparently, the Spanish justice system is not thinking of leaving her alone easily.

The Spanish Prosecutor’s Office filed a second complaint against Shakira last Tuesday, in which it claims that the Colombian singer defrauded the Spanish economy of more than $7 million in 2018.

The claim of tax evasion in excess of $14 million in 2012 and 2014 is added to this new accusation. Given this scenario, the artist faces a new problem that threatens her legal status in Spain.

On November 20, the trial against the “Waka Waka” singer will be held at the Barcelona City Court for having defrauded more than 20 million dollars in taxes. This case will be litigated by the Economic Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of the Spanish city.
