Johnny Depp begins shooting his next film as a director, after 25 years

Johnny Depp is a very well known actor, unfortunately, about a year ago he was involved in scandals that made his career pause momentarily, but now, Depp would be back in the film industry.

He has recently released a movie, but apparently that is not enough, because after 25 years, the legendary actor who gave life to Jack Sparrow, would be returning but behind the screens, acting as a director.

The movie “Modi” portrays the life of Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani, who was considered a commercial failure and died at the age of 35 working in France. Due to his modern and innovative style in his portraits and nudes, he gained great popularity, but was also the subject of several controversies. It will be a film set in Paris during the post-war period.

The film will be directed by Johnny Depp, while the cast includes Luisa Ranieri as Rosalie, the Parisian café owner whom Modigliani painted in one of his best paintings. Riccardo Scamarcio, who plays the aforementioned artist, is another of the main characters.

The film’s cast includes Antonia Desplat, Bruno Gouery, Stephen Graham, Ryan McParland, Benjamin Lavernhe, Matt Wolf and Sally Phillips, among other prominent actors.

After directing 25 years ago the films “The Brave” in 1997 and “Stuff” in 1993, the actor is preparing to direct this new production.
