Rowoon became one of the emerging idols who found his way into acting, the talented actor and singer is the greatest reference in K-Dramas nowadays. Rowoon’s popularity has created hype among the fans because of his character in the new K-Drama, “The Matchmaker.”
The idol is set to play a young widower, Shim Jung Woo, and a young widow, Jung Seon Dook played by Cho Yi Hyun. This rom-com drama is set during the Joseon dynasty and tells the story of the two protagonists during their struggle to marry off the Joseon era’s unmarried women and men who are considered older than the typical prime age range.
Rowoon’s character is described as a person of misfortune whose chances for having a higher social status slip away after the princess he was meant to marry passes away during the wedding ceremony. Rowoon couldn’t help his enthusiasm and shared a statement about his role.
“I found the script captivating right from the start. Working on set with fellow actors made it even more enjoyable. Shim Jung Woo feels like a brand-new character, different from any I’ve portrayed before. I’m greeting you again through a historical drama after a long while.
