BTS became one of the biggest boybands to ever exist and their reign seems to have no end. Those elements are the perfect combination of a constant threat because of the numerous personal attacks such as maliciously edited posts, false rumors, and sexual harassment some BTS members have received along the way.
On June 29, BigHit music had to release two separate statements regarding the unfortunate situation that BTS and TXT were going through regarding the infringement of the idols’ rights.
“We have recently filed additional criminal complaints against postings with personal attacks and defamation using new information provided by fans as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives.”
BigHit music gave an update about the situation on September 27 by releasing a new statement on WeVerse:
“During this quarter, we filed multiple criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence related to acts infringing on the rights of the artists, including defamation, submitted by our fans as well as collected through our own monitoring. We would like to inform you that we are taking strong measures against malicious postings related to all members including the members who are currently fulfilling their military service.”
BigHit music is always seeking BTS’ safety and protects them at all costs from the several attacks they have received. These measurements are set to halt the harassment the members have gone through and remember they are humans after all.
