The Western series that surpasses Game of Thrones and is available on Netflix

It is not a secret to anyone that Game of Thrones is one of the most popular series in history, as it broke audience records week after week, but now a Western series is taking the acclaim by surprise due to its epic ending.

We are talking about ‘Godless’, a series premiered in 2017 and whose story takes place in the 1870s in a small mining town in the United States, which is inhabited only by women. However, the peace ends when a group of outlaws arrive looking for a millionaire treasure, so the women must unite to defend themselves.

The synopsis reads as follows:

“Frank Griffin is a ruthless outlaw who is terrorizing a wide area of the American West and is now on the hunt for young Roy Goode, a former protégé of his who has become his greatest enemy. Roy, on the run from Frank and his feared gang, hides out on a ranch in La Belle, New Mexico, a town made up of widowed women after the collapse of the mine where the miners worked.”

To the surprise of many, this series has surpassed the medieval Game of Thrones in acclaim, thanks to the fact that its ending is perfectly executed in accordance with the initial plot. Moreover, the critical acclaim for Godless is completely unanimous, contrary to that of Game of Thrones.

The series stars Jeff Daniels as Roy Goode, an outlaw on the run from his past, Michelle Dockery as Alice Fletcher, a widow who runs a mining town inhabited only by women, and Jack O’Connell as Frank Griffin.

This production is available on Netflix and has only 7 episodes, although it is suitable only for people over 16 years old. You can watch the amazing trailer for ‘Godless’ below:
