War films have always caught the attention of audiences because, even though many are not based on real events, the very energy of people going to fight for their country is demonstrated through the screen, making for extremely impactful productions.
Netflix has proven time and time again that it has a lot of variety in what it shows people, taking into account that we can find from great comedies to movies that can’t help but make us cry.
The Norwegian war drama that’s taking Netflix by storm
On the streaming platform Netflix, there is a particular war drama production, which shows us a completely deep story.
War Sailor is a European, specifically Norwegian film that is split into a series of only 4 episodes. The drama is directed by Gunnar Vikene and has already become highly recommended to watch through the platform.
“Sailor Alfred finds himself in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when World War II breaks out. Suddenly, the sailors are on the front lines of the war, unarmed,” the synopsis states.
It is a new perspective on the history of Norway during World War II. The production and story of the series are very specific because it talks about the gray terrain in which people must move in the presence of the military in a neutral territory.
Quickly the series has become a success, as we see a very different way of telling the story and of course, all the traumas that are made post-war.
