Irene of Red Velvet surprises fans at a show despite rumors of her pushing back

Kpop girl band Red Velvet performed as part of SM Entertainment’s “SMTOWN LIVE 2023 SMCU PALACE JAKARTA,” which was a massive concert the South Korean company held, including groups such as Red Velvet, aespa, NCT 127 and more…

In spite of the great news for fans in Jakarta, the company announced that Irene, the leader of Red Velvet, would not perform during the show due to her health condition. However, the idol was already in the venue with Wendy, Seulgi, Joy, and Yeri, her fellow Red Velvet members, and the initial plan was changed.

As a result, Irene decided to surprise her fans, also known as ReVeluv by actually performing, despite earlier plans of sitting out her performance in the show. About this, her band member, Joy, commented “Irene wasn’t feeling her best today but she wanted to see fans in Jakarta so here she is, performing with us.”

After this, the “Naughty” singer thanked her ReVeluv for their support and took the occasion to share some good news that hyped up the audience. “We’ll greet you with a new album soon so please stay tuned,” the singer said.

Her appearance had a wide range of reactions across social media platforms. For example, some fans voiced their concern for Irene’s health condition. Others said she was possibly sitting out because of plans for Irene to leave the group.

In spite of this speculations, Irene gave her best and performed for all her fans in Jakarta. As a result, ReVeluv quickly praised her for her effort but also felt sad after seeing her pushing through the performance due to her health condition.
