Kpop girl group BLACKPINK has had a rumor-packed week, with tons of speculations swirling around, especially about the contract renewals of the quartet. In regards to this, YG Entertainment, the girl band’s company, has recently provided an intriguing update on the global Kpop juggernaut.
In the last couple of days, speculations have suggested the group’s rapper, Lisa, might no longer be part of BLACKPINK, due to her reportedly signing a contract with a different agency. However, this has not been yet confirmed by any of the parties involved in the contract renewal.
Thanks to these recurrent rumors, YG Entertainment recently issued a brief statement commenting on the ongoing contract renewal that has BLACKPINK fans, better known as BLINKS, in discontent and suspense. As a result the South Korean company concisely affirmed:
“Currently, BLACKPINK’s contract renewal has not been confirmed and is being discussed.”
The brief statement was made relatively recently, on September 21. This suggests that discussions about the future of all four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, as a group are still on the table and there might be hopes of the girl band being together for the time to come.
Undoubtedly, these countless rumors and misinformation have had a negative impact on the agency, as they have not been able to securely give fans accurate information on their biggest Kpop group in recent years. For now, BLINKS will have to wait for more information in hopes of seeing the group together, as it has always been since their debut in 2016.
