The Kpop girl band FIFTY FIFTY had an international breakthrough with their song “Cupid,” which was released in February this year. In spite of the song having just a modest reception in its local market after being dropped, it became a massive Internet hit in the following months.
Thanks to the influence of the social media platform, TikTok, “Cupid” (Twin Verison) was able to conquer the charts both in South Korea and the United States, reaching an impressive #17 position in the Billboard Hot 100. This was all done thanks to the song’s catchiness and the vocals of the members, as they never actually promoted the song in the United States officially.
After a couple of months since taking the charts by storm, FIFTY FIFTY is now back with their latest EP titled “The Beginning.” The project contains the massive smash “Cupid” in different versions including the Twin Version, the version featuring popstar Sabrina Carpenter, and the Korean-language version.
In addition, the mini-album also has songs from their previous EP: “Lovin’ Me”, “Tell Me,” “Higher” and “Log In.” Moreover, FIFTY FIFTY’s fans, also known as Hunnies, will find 3 additional songs credited as “Live Studio Versions” as well as the speed-up version of the smash “Cupid.”
The group, comprised of Sio, Saena, Aran, and Keena, celebrated the release of this project with two stories on the group’s social media networks, telling fans about the exciting news that “The Beginning” is already out.
