John Wick has been a movie of great impact, not only because Keanu Reeves is one of the industry’s favorite actors, but also because of the unlimited action scenes that experiment with very interesting visual styles.
After the success of the movies where we see John Wick, it was decided to produce a series that would be in the house of Prime Video, but unfortunately, the first reviews have already come out and have not been very flattering.
The Continental’ is too generic: ‘John Wick’ spin-off drops after strong reviews
After the fourth episode aired, critics began to flood the media, claiming that the series has nothing to do with “John Wick”.
“The series is the equivalent of a hotel budget. Low cost, nothing special, and very generic”, assured the newspaper ‘Slant Maganize’.
Other media, such as “Los Angeles Times” and “AV Club”, said that the series is not bad if you are a person who tends to be easily distracted, but that the plot could have been more intense to follow the legacy that gave life to the iconic character of the franchise.
A very important characteristic of the Wick movies is the ease of getting caught up in the action, so if the series doesn’t have this, it will be a big loss.
What do you think about it? Do you think the reviews are being unfair or does the series has the potential to be much more relevant in the future? Is the series at the same level as the movies? We want to hear from you.
