Rookie kpop group BOYNEXTDOOR smashes the charts and debuts its EP in the United States

BOYNEXTDOOR made their highly-anticipated debut last May, with their song “But I Like You.” Since then, they went on to drop two more singles, the catchy “One and Only” and the sentimental “Serande,” much to their hype of their fans, which do not have a fandom name yet. After this, the 6-piece kpop boy group released their very first EP “WHY…” which includes the three songs we previously mentioned and 3 more brand-new tracks!

The EP, which was officially released on September 4, has spawned their most recent single,“뭣 같아 (But Sometimes).” Upon its launch, the EP started smashing different charts around the globe. It peaked at number three in South Korea, number two in Japan, number one in Billboard’s Hot Seeker Albums, number 3 in World Albums, and finally 162 in the Billboard 200. In total, their debut record amassed a total of 8,000 copies during its first week.

With this, the group marks its debut in the Billboard charts and proofs the incredible reception and potential their work has outside their local market. It would not be a surprise if BOYNEXTDOOR, just like BLACKPINK and BTS did in the past, started climbing positions with their upcoming projects and become a prominent name in the Kpop genre overseas.

For now, BOYNEXTDOOR continues to promote its latest music on music shows and has made appearances on different variety shows. The group with members Jaehyun, Leehan, Riwoo, Sungho, Taesan and Woonhak said they “prepared both together, and we treat them as one big album,” and hope their music to become familiar to fans, as if they were talking to friends through their lyrics and catchy beats.
