The ongoing SAG-AFTRA actors and writers’ strike have had a considerable impact in series and the entertainment industry in general. The workers are demanding better wages, regulations against artificial intelligence and the implementation of health insurance. As these employees have put a stop to production of entertainment in the media, we will be telling you about some series that were subsequently affected by the decision.
Stranger Things (Season 5)
This series is arguably one of the most highly-anticipated ones by Netflix viewers and fans. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait until, at least, 2025 to see how the story develops.
The Boys (Season 4)
This production about corrupt superheroes, which portrays a more realistic take on how humans might be if they have superpowers, has also been affected by the current strike. Its fourth season premiere could be postponed to 2024.
Euphoria (Season 3)
The fan-favorite series, with Zendaya at the forefront, is stick in the limbo as a result of the writer strike. Its premiere is set to take place in late 2024.
The Last Of Us (Season 2)
The second release of the series based on the popular video game, starring Pedro Pascal, is currently paused. The script remains incomplete as a result of the ongoing protests, and its production will continue to be on hold until the script is finalized.
House of The Dragon (Season 2)
The second season of “House of the Dragon” had started being filmed in March this year. However, as a result of the protests, its release day could be postponed, even if the actual production has not been totally paused.
As of now, SAG-AFTRA actors and writers have not reached any agreement with executives at the top of these shows. Hopefully, a resolution can be found soon so that these workers can have better working conditions and these series return to their normal schedules and production states.
