Jonathan Nolan, screenwriter and brother of director Christopher Nolan, in a recent meeting stated that ‘Interstellar‘ in the first drafts would have a completely different ending than the one that was seen in the movie, even the most popular and emotional scene of the film would not appear.
After being released in November 2014, starring Matthew McConaughey, it was called to a colloquium in which the brothers were present, many physicists also attended and they debated interesting topics about the production, the interesting and assertive nature of the film.
It was also explained and confirmed how it is possible that although the characters only spent an hour on planet Miller, and five years had passed on planet Earth, and although the best-known films of Christopher’s are not emotional, he demonstrated that he is up to the task of making a very sentimental productions.
The reunion between Cooper and his daughter is one of the most emotional scenes in the installment, however the original ending of ‘Interstellar’ was much more dark and Cooper broke his promise, so he would not end up seeing his daughter again.
This film tells the story of how “thanks to a discovery, a group of scientists and explorers, led by Cooper, embark on a space journey to find a place with the necessary conditions to replace Earth and start a new life there“, according to the official synopsis.
