‘Barbie’ surpassed Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ in the United States

Since its premiere on July 21st, the movie ‘Barbie‘ has been breaking all kinds of records in the industry with its great success, among them the most recent one has surprised by surpassing a production of the great superhero franchise, Marvel.

This film about the iconic Mattel doll has achieved so much success worldwide that it became the highest-grossing film worldwide in 2023, raising $1.38 billion dollars, and for its part in the United States it has raised more than $623 million dollars.

This last amount has shown how the film directed by Greta Gerwing has surpassed the film titled ‘The Avengers‘ from 2012, which began the successful saga of Marvel Studios films, bringing ‘Barbie‘ closer  to entering the Top 10 of the highest grossing films in the United States.

Another reason why this milestone has surprised everyone is that despite having been in theaters for 8 weeks and having premiered on the Prime Video streaming platform on September 12th, the film continued to be a success at the box office in the American country, surpassing later the Marvel production.

This has shown the great potential that the film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has at the box office, which is currently the 14th highest grossing film of all time worldwide according to Box Office Mojo.
