The MTV Video Music Awards 2023 were celebrated yesterday and Stray Kids was a part of the music-packed party. The 8-piece Kpop boy group performed on the VMAs 2023 stage and smashed the ceremony with their impressive choreography, speedy raps, and stable vocals.
At the moment, the group is currently promoting its latest studio album “5-STAR,” which has spawned the mega-popular hit song “S-CLASS.” The track went on to chart both in South Korea and internationally, peaking at #8 in Japan and getting into the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles in the US. For these reasons, it is no surprise that Stray Kids decided to perform it, much to the delight of their fandom, also known as STAY.
The performance quickly opened with some smooth dance moves and Chang Bing’s punching rap. This would set the mood for the whole song, as each Stary Kids member was able to showcase their ability on stage. For the occasion, the track was re-arranged with a remix version, which included a twist on the second verse and a dubstep-influenced beat drop at the end of the song. Stray Kids ended their performance with a powerful dance break that left other celebrities at the show and fans yelling out for more!
Apart from slaying the sage, the South Korean boyband was able to earn the MTV Video Music Award for Best Kpop, which has been previously won by BTS or Lisa of BLACKPINK. Undoubtedly, Stray Kids has had a massive year with tons of wins on their behalf and breathtaking performances along the way.
