For some years now, Miss Universe has been modified to be much more inclusive, and now with the new modifications that are being made, any woman, regardless of her age, will be able to participate.
It is not the first time that a major modification is made, since let’s remember that even women had to be single and childless, something that has already been changed, giving the freedom to more women to follow their dreams.
New Miss Universe law will allow women of any age to participate in the pageant
Undoubtedly, the most famous beauty pageant worldwide, Miss Universe, has been updated little by little with the intention of being more inclusive and giving opportunity to all women equally, so that something like age does not interfere with their dreams.
Yesterday, the Miss Universe organization announced that they will eliminate age restrictions for participants who wish to participate in the pageant. All candidates participating in the pageant can be over 18 years old.
R’Bonney Gabriel, the current Miss Universe of the United States, shared the announcement on her social networks. In the announcement, she explained that age limits will be eliminated in all pageants related to the organization, in addition to the main pageant. Starting next year, these changes will be mandatory globally.
“Those who were on the age limit will be able to fulfill their dreams,” Gabriel wrote under the announcement.
“What I like most about the Miss Universe organization is that they are not afraid to be the first ones out there, looking for new alternatives to be more inclusive and live up to the platform. We are a bold group of women in charge here and, there are many people around the world who tend to follow what we do, I am proud that we get to do this.”
