Taylor Swift became one of the most popular singers around the world and the numerous records she has broken demonstrate it. However, she was in the middle of the controversy after she released the trailer from ‘The Eras Tour’ despite the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike
The Hollywood industry halted their productions because of the strike which is seeking to reach an agreement regarding economic fairness, residuals, regulating the use of artificial intelligence, and alleviating the burdens of the industry-wide shift to self-taping.
Taylor Swift shocked the world after she announced ‘The Eras Tour Film’ is going to premiere on October 13 which caused mixed opinions among some members of the SAG-AFTRA because they thought she was breaking the rules of the current strike. However, The leader of the strike, Crabtree-Ireland cleared the situation quickly:
“That concert movie is covered by a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA. And she came to us and said she wanted to do this, but only if she could do it the right way under a union contract. And we said that’s great. And so she fulfilled all the same criteria as anybody else and has an interim agreement for that production. So we are very excited for everyone to go see that. And judging by the success of the tour, I have every expectation that all the people who couldn’t get tickets because they were so expensive or hard to get, like me, will have a chance to see it in the theaters.”
This became great news for Taylor Swift’s fans who couldn’t attend the Eras Tour and despite the fact that some people didn’t agree with the situation, Taylor Swift made sure to make everything under the law of the strike and her fans couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming film.
