According to People, this deal was the most profitable in the history of a perfume, which meant that Johnny managed to set a precedent in the perfume industry, despite the controversies in which the actor has been involved.
Recall that even the controversies involve the former relationship he has with actress Amber Heard, since according to the actor’s sister, reported in court in Virginia Depp’s sister, Christi Dembrowski:
“One time we were in an office, I had a meeting with Dior because he wanted to sit down with Johnny and talk about working together. All of a sudden Amber came in and asked if I was interrupting, we said no, Johnny told Amber that he had just had a meeting with Dior and that they were interested in him,” Dembrowski said on the stand in the Virginia courtroom.
“Her reaction to that was that she was incredulous and somewhat upset by the news, and she asked, ‘Dior? Why would Dior want to do business with you?’ It’s about class and style and you have no style.’ It was a very dismissive way of ruining that moment, she just scoffed,” the actor’s sister recounted.
