‘Outlander’, a series premiered in 2014 and is an adaptation of the eponymous book saga by author Diana Gabaldon. The first book, ‘Outlander – The Time Traveler’, was published in 1991. This series combines action, romance and time travel.

The series tells the story of Claire, played by Caitriona Balfe, a nurse who helped in World War II and is now trying to recover her relationship with her husband after the end of the war. When she travels to Scotland, UK, she discovers by chance a time portal that takes her back to 1743.

Outlander received widespread and positive praise, to the point that some considered it better than the famous HBO series Game of Thrones, which is an action-packed medieval drama.
