Kate Middleton’s touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II one year after her departure
Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton attended a memorial service to commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. During the service, Kate was seen wearing the monarch’s earrings, a modest but meaningful gesture to honor her memories. The next heir to the throne and his wife traveled to Wales to take part in the tribute.
According to Lauren Kiehna, writer and editor of The Court Jeweller, the first time she borrowed the Queen’s jewelry was in October 2016, when she traveled to the Netherlands on her first solo foreign trip.
Supporters of the monarchy have also expressed their grief on social media, citing the Sept. 8 loss as one of England’s greatest losses.
Kate Middleton has always shown her respect for the queen and has done so once again, mourning her loss a year ago but still letting the British monarchy continue with its new king, Charles.
