The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ saga is one of Disney‘s most ambitious and successful projects, for this reason millions of fans have fantasized about the idea of a sixth installment, but the actor of the main character Johnny Depp, recently faced a controversial trial and questioned his appearance in future proyects of the franchise.
But fans have a new reason to smile, because Craig Mazin, ‘The Last Of Us‘ director, revealed in a recent interview for Los Angeles Time that he presented a proposal to Disney for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6‘ it was a script that he wrote with Ted Elliot, creator of the dialogues of the first 4 installments and apparently the studio accepted and put him in charge of the next story of Captain Sparrow.
The acclaimed director expressed the following: “We did it, and we took it to the studio, we never thought they were going to buy it, not at all. But they did, I wrote a great script, but strikes happened and everything has come to a standstill“, so we can assume that the making of the sixth installment will get underway and it is only expected that the protest ends to carry out the production.
On the other hand, Johnny Depp, the successful actor who gives life to the iconic pirate, during one of the sessions in the case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, stated that he would reflect on the possibility of playing Captain Jack Sparrow, however, he did not assure that his decision would be affirmative, even so he left an open window that makes the fans very excited.
The revelations of the director Craig and the statements of Johnny Depp make it clear that despite the fact that the development of the film has not been officially confirmed, it is well advanced, which leaves some hope that a release date for the acclaimed film will be announced soon.
