Selena Gomez is back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after she was involved in a controversy. The American singer and actress was accused of not showing support to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike because she broke one of the primary rules of the strike after promoting ‘Only Murders in the Building.’
Since the strike started on July 14, actors and writers have been expressing their disagreement towards the Hollywood industry and hope they can reach an agreement in order to improve working and payment conditions.
Gomez recently posted an Instagram video of the filming set allegedly promoting the criminal comedy series. Despite the fact that she didn’t promote directly or speak in the clip, the video garnered over 1.1 million likes in 15 hours, which was captioned with “missing and wanting.” The video caused a commotion both from the online community and the union which categorized this act as reckless from the American artist.
Selena Gomez received backlash from numerous users online and decided to delete the post, she also had to face controversy with the SAG-AFTRA union who felt offended because she broke this important rule during times like this in the Hollywood industry.
