Recently, the famous American novelist Stephen King, creator of the hit horror novels IT and Carrie, has given his honest opinion about a movie in which Margot Robbie participated and that many cataloged as a total failure, but he thinks will be one of the most appreciated movies in the future for its quality.
Throughout history, the world of cinema has seen wonderful works, along with others that fail to achieve a specific goal, as was the case with Babylon, a movie released in 2022 that received strong criticism on Rotten Tomatoes. It had a score of 57% from critics and a 52% audience approval worldwide, scores that are quite low considering the great cast that worked on this film, which includes Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.
However, even though many have a negative opinion of the movie, Stephen King took to twitter to expresses that he though it was ‘utterly brilliant,’ and though it has been greatly underrated, predicts that it could become a cinematic classic in the future.
Perhaps within the next 20 years, as its focus revolves around depicting the history of the 1920s, revealing the rise and fall of various significant characters during the most obscure era of Hollywood.
“Maybe this says more about me than the film, but I thought BABYLON was utterly brilliant–extravagant, over the top, hilarious, thought-provoking. Might be one of those movies that reviews badly and is acclaimed as a classic in 20 years” the influential novelist stated on social media.
Everything seems to suggest that the renowned writer thoroughly enjoyed this production from start to finish, leaving him with such positive impressions. He liked it so much that he’s been able to give his honest opinion about the film. However, only time will tell whether Stephen King’s prediction will come true or not.
