The terrible reason why House of the Dragon had to cut the new season short
The motives surrounding the second season of the Game of Thrones spin-off series are increasingly bad, and despite the success of the first series, House of the Dragon has not managed to charm the audience that once loved GOT in such an extraordinary way. Now, despite having a second season confirmed, the epic series has had to be shortened due to a terrible reason.
Although the production of this series has not been so affected, it is a fact that its premiere date will be further away than we thought, but that’s not all, as it seems that the modifications it has suffered include the shortening of its season, quickly disappointing all the fans who have been waiting for months for new content.
As explained by director Claire Kilner, unlike the first season, which had 10 episodes, this one will only have 8, and the reason is devastating. Claire says that although the creative team of the production is working on the episodes to give a more epic closure to the story, the truth is that the series has had to be shortened due to the stagnation caused by the strike in Hollywood.
This decision was made by the showrunner, Ryan Condal, who justified this decision protecting the quality of the final project for the viewers, as the director also explained “They are eight wonderful episodes with so many things happening in each one of them, and sometimes we have problems to reduce them to just one hour. Ryan’s decision was to give it an excellent opening and a good ending, and no doubt this one is packed with visibly emotional events.”
