BTSRM is back in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after he was accused of being Islamophobic which cause a debate on social media. His fans, the so-called ARMY were the first ones to draw the line from the accusations and canceled him.

On August 16, started the controversy after the South Korean rapper shared ‘Bad Religion’ by Frank Ocean in a story from his Instagram official social media account. This song is considered by many as a complete lack of respect because it mocks the Islamic religion

The particular lyrics from the song which served as an argument to cancel RM were: “He said ‘Allahu akbar.’ I told him, ‘Don’t curse me. ’Bo Bo, you need prayer. I guess it couldn’t hurt me. If it brings me to my knees, it’s a bad religion”

Despite the fact that ‘Allahu akbar.’ translates ‘Allah is the greatest.’ the song is meant to show is a curse and that the Islamic religion is a bad religion. The song is about unrequited love but might be misinterpreted.

The ARMY around the world felt completely disrespected by RM’s stories and called on him to respect the Islamic religion and he apologizes to the community publicly. RM has not addressed the situation and it is expected if the controversy keeps growing exponentially the rapper must apologize releasing a statement in the next couple of days.
