The solo comeback of BLACKPINK’s Jennie might be closer than expected at least. It’s been almost 5 years since the solo debut of BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, who released the single “SOLO” in November 2018. Since then, she has not had any more forays into her solo music career.
Korean media revealed that agency YG Entertainment along with THEBLACKLABEL registered the song “You and Me” under Jennie’s name with ASCAP (American Songwriters Association). This page does allow you to see details of who produced the song, who its authorized distributors are and who performs it.
In this case Jennie is the only recorded performer of “You and Me“. However, this song is not completely unknown to BLACKPINK fans (BLINKs), who have already heard “You and Me” a couple of times live when the band decided to include the unreleased track in their concerts.
This song is so important to the soloist that she even dedicated an entire vlog to it on her YouTube channel. In the video she reveals that “You and Me” is a song she wrote herself and that she originally recorded it 3-4 years ago. Apparently, it was one of the options for her solo debut.
At the moment, that’s all the information gathered but it is known that Jennie’s comeback is imminent and could even happen this 2023. Jennie was even seen performing a remix version of the single during the group’s Coachella performance in April this 2023.
