K-drama “King the Land” ended its 1st season with record ratings

Popular romantic K-drama ‘King The Land’ finally aired its last episode with high ratings. With a total of 16 episodes, the K-drama starring 2PM’s Lee Junho and Girls’ Generation’s Im Yoon-Ah ended its transmission with a record-breaking viewer rating.

According to Neilsen Korea, “King The Land” scored 11.9% viewership during the airing of its penultimate episode, topping the first place of K-dramas aired in the month. This made it one of the most watched Korean series of the year.

The last episode, marked an event that all fans of the series were waiting for the outcome of the protagonists Goo Won and Cheon Sa Rang. During the airing of this new project starring two of KPOP’s best-known idols, speculations about a possible romantic relationship between the two surfaced as the series aired.

However, nothing was an impediment for this new love K-drama to end up breaking a ratings record. Although only one season has been confirmed, fans are speculating about a second one due to the open ending the series had.

The series had an emotional ending, proving once again that love is strongest when it is reciprocated. Thus ended “King The Land,” a story that thrilled all K-drama fans. The first season of “King The Land” had record-breaking viewership on Netflix as well, becoming the most popular Korean series on the platform this year.
