Although KPOP is home to artists of all kinds with very different sounds, there are many risky proposals that have yet to be heard from any of the idols who belong to this industry. The solo artists have the most opportunities to express their own artistic vision, like Jeon Somi.
After several years of experience in the industry, it seems that Jeon Somi is becoming more and more confident in experimenting with her sound. After almost two years off the map, the idol is back with a different and risky proposal: it’s titled ‘GAME PLAN‘ and it’s quite a statement of intent.
Although the start of the EP is not particularly striking, it is the visuals of Somi and the video clip that grab all the attention, the arrival of choruses has left many of the artist’s fans open-mouthed. The EP is filled with catchy instrumentals that are very electro-pop.
The title track “Fast Foward“, brings a particular sound, a semi-spoken part and a choreography full of angular movements in the style of Madonna‘s ‘Vogue’. It is likely that jeon Somi’s ‘Fast Forward’ will enter into countless playlists to be blasted in any ‘PRIDE PARADE‘.
Regarding sales, it is still too early to give any statement, but it is certain that the song is already dominating the charts in South Korea, as the idol is used to, although it is not known if she will repeat the same success she achieved with ‘Dumb Dumb‘.
