Social media has dawned tumultuously after BIGHIT MUSIC issued a lengthy statement in the early morning of August 7 (Miami time) to announce that member SUGA of the group BTS has requested the termination of his postponement regarding his military enlistment. The statement reads as follows:
“Notification of BTS Suga’s military enlistment and his future plans. Hello, This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are pleased to inform the fans that our idol SUGA of the group BTS has started his military enlistment process by immediately requesting the termination of his postponement regarding his mandatory enlistment.
We will be informing you regarding future plans and new updates with due time and caution. In return, we ask for your continued love and support to SUGA until he completes his military service and returns to his activities with BTS safe and health. Our company will not hesitate to give support to our artist. Thank you.“
The idol named Min Yoongi but stage name Suga will become the third BTS member to enlist in South Korea’s military enlistment, joining Jin and J-Hope. Regarding the details of the assigned command and the duties he will do, nothing has been revealed yet.
In December 2022, K-Media reported that the 30-year-old idol was going to perform his military service as a social service agent instead of an active soldier, although nothing has been confirmed yet. The news comes just hours after Suga wrapped up his “Agust D Tour” tour through Asia and North America.
