After having made one of the most successful series in recent years, director and screenwriter George R.R. Martin is very upset with the organization of the Emmy Awards, as he does not understand why this entity, as all voters around the world, leave out characters and actors from the cast of ‘House of the Dragon‘, a series completed in 2022 and is now awaiting its second season.
Since last June 27th all over the internet has been playing a strong theme, and is that the spin-off of the famous series ‘Game Of Thrones‘ does not have many nominations for Emmy Awards as all his followers, director and cast expected, annoyance that has reached George R.R. Martin who has not stood idly by and has given his opinion on this controversial issue.
The famous director seems not to mince words, making it clear in his personal blog that at least Paddy Considine deserved an Emmy nomination, since his role playing King Viserys Targaryen has been one of the most celebrated by critics and viewers.
“Neither he nor the series got to compete for best actor or best drama series, it seems that if you do something well and do not have great actors, directors and writers, the work is not worth. Many of the crew, will get a new chance in the next seasons to come; however, that will not happen with Paddy Considine, as his character passed away in the first season as many know“.
“This really hurts me, his performance has been magnificent“, expressed George R.R. Martin in his Blog.
