Oppenheimer hit theaters and thrilled the entire audience, as much had been said about this movie, since it would be premiering next to the movie Barbie. The first week it had a great reception, but now, “Oppenheimer” suffers an incredible drop at the box office.
The worst news has arrived, and is that the expected movie Oppenheimer, which talks about the creation of the atomic bomb would not be at number one at the box office as expected and this has worried a lot the director of the film, Christopher Nolan.
There is no doubt that in the first days of release since last July 20, this was one of the highest grossing films in all theaters, however, “Oppenheimer” starring Cillian Murphy, and other important actors, suffered a drop of about 44% as reported by The Wrap company.
Although this new film has already surpassed $400 million dollars grossed globally, in its second weekend it grossed $46.2 million dollars in the United States, a drop almost double that of its first week with $82.4 million in the same country, which clearly could generate some concern for the director of this valuable film.
The film looks set to remain in theaters worldwide for a couple more weeks, so if you haven’t seen Oppenheimer yet, it’s a film that deserves to be seen.
