Hollywood is going through a pretty tough time, as there are no people working in the industry due to strikes, to such an extent that Dwayne Johnson has shown support for the Actors Union strike.
In the strike union are screenwriters and actors, making that there are no people working there, they can’t even promote their movies, making that big productions are delayed and long awaited movies won’t be released for several years.
Faced with this long struggle Dwayne Johnson, who was named for several years as the highest paid actor in Hollywood, a few days ago decided to show his support and solidarity with his colleagues by making a historic donation to the union.
When this strike began, the president of the foundation, Courtney B. Vance and the executive director, Cyd Wilson, sent a letter to many of today’s highest paid actors to inform them about the economic problems that the union was going through during the strike; however, the only one who was present was Dwayne Johnson, who along with his team extended his hand to help.
In an interview with Variety, Vance noted that “it was a very loving gesture on the actor’s part. It’s like he’s stepping up to the plate that allows others to be aware of the real problem the union is going through. It’s like Dwayne Johnson saying right now I’m here with you and I’m not going anywhere and whatever you need, I’ll do.”
