One of the most anticipated movies in recent years has been Barbie, this new adaptation of the iconic doll that shows a very different perspective of what the doll could be in real life, causing an incredible amount of reactions on social networks that would make anyone want to be part of that universe, but, although it is hard to believe, actors rejected the role of Ken in the Barbie movie.
When a new production is starting, actors must be very careful with the roles they take, even if they don’t know the possible success they can have, but even in big productions, many actors decide to reject roles that would have been very important, such is the case of Ken in the new Barbie movie.
Ben Platt, Dan Levy and Bowen Yang were some of these actors who could not be part of it. “They were, I’m not kidding, really bummed that they couldn’t do it,” he revealed.
Apparently, the reason why they couldn’t be part of this movie is because of the strict regulations due to COVID, since, apparently, they would have to spend more than 3 months in London, where the filming took place.
There was another great actor who was left out of the movie but in the role of Allan, Ken’s friend, which was taken by Michael Cera.
“Jonathan Groff said, ‘I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I can’t play Allan,'” he recounted.
