King Charles III’s reign is popular because of the numerous strategies he wants to implement to reduce environmental damage. However, a group of climate activists harshly attacked King Charles III and demonstrated that they are against his monarchy’s ideas.
King Charles III ascended to the throne on May 5. Although the official coronation ceremony was a huge success, he received a mixed reception from the British people. An example of this is the climate activists vandalized King Charles III’s portrait in the National Galleries of Scotland: Portrait with spray paint on July 26.
One of the two protesters representing the protesters is “This is Rigged” organization, who commented on why they are trying to catch people’s attention:
“Why does The Scottish Government think it’s acceptable to keep allowing new oil and gas projects to go ahead, without even opposing them? If we want a future for our young people, they need to oppose all new oil and gas licenses.”
This is Rigged has been actively participating in several demonstrations in order to halt the main fuel suppliers’ activities in Scotland with lockdowns and other actions. However, this is not the first time King Charles III’s monuments have been vandalized after four climate change protests from the group Just Stop Oil shoved a cake in the face of a wax statue of King Charles III. This represents the bad reception of the monarch in his rising reign.
