J Robert Oppenheimer’s grandson, Charles Oppenheimer, recently gave declarations about Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, “Oppenheimer” which surprised the director.
Charles praised Nolan because of the great production of the movie. In contrast, he also criticized something the film missed. In this line, Oppenheimer gave an interview with The Times, and he asserted only one part of the movie didn’t show the truth about his grandfather and the true nature of the history.
“The part I like the least is this poison apple reference, which was a problem in American Prometheus. If you read American Prometheus carefully enough, the authors say, ‘We don’t really know if it happened.’ There’s no record of him trying to kill somebody. That’s a really serious accusation and it’s a historical revision. There’s not a single enemy or friend of Robert Oppenheimer who heard that during his life and considered it to be true.”
Charles Oppenheimer also confessed, despite he didn’t like the reference, he did not advise Christopher Nolan about the movie: “I don’t think he needed input from the family. And as an artist, he obviously has every right to do that. You need art to tell this story. I definitely would have removed the apple thing. But I can’t imagine myself giving advice about movie stuff to Nolan. He’s an expert, he’s an artist, and he’s a genius in this area.”
It is expected that Oppenheimer keeps thriving worldwide box score and remains as one of the best movies of 2023 along with Barbie. Both films have become a global phenomenon since its release.
