The news that Henry Cavill was going to stop playing Geralt of Rivia, from ‘The Witcher‘, definitely caused controversy and furor among fans who had been following the series, since they assured that he was the perfect actor to give life to the tough and enigmatic character of the video games, but now, it has been fully confirmed, and the producers of the saga say they have the definitive method to explain the sudden change of actor within the fictional series.
Those responsible for the Netflix series, Steve Gaub and Tomek Baginski, have given an interview to the entertainment media ‘Yahoo News‘ where they talked about the change of protagonist, they stated that having worked with Henry Cavill was a great experience, “the journey was very good, and we will miss him“, however, they assured that they have big plans with Liam Hemsworth, “at the same time, we have the perfect plan to introduce our new Geralt“.
Fans of the series did not take long to wonder what would happen in the series, and how it would be possible to justify the change of actor in the middle of the shooting, just accept the fact and pretend he had been the same character throughout the series? Or there would be some event that would really explain the facts?
Well according to Tomek Baginski, if there is an idea, “I’m not going to delve into those ideas because it would be a big spoiler, but it’s also too close to the meta-ideas that are deeply stipulated in the books, especially in the fifth book“. These statements from both producers made a little clearer the idea of what was going to happen for this second part of the third season of ‘The Witcher’, however, whether to like it or not, remains the concern of users.
