Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ is one of the most talked-about movies of the year and it will likely end up being both a critical and commercial success. However, he recently revealed more details about the creative process behind the film and revealed that it wouldn’t exist without Robert Pattinson.
On July 9, the critically acclaimed director was interviewed by journalist Tara Hitchcok as part of the promotional campaign for ‘Oppenheimer’ and talked about how he got the idea of working on it. After being asked about how he decided to tell this story, he confessed that it was Robert Pattinson, with whom he worked in 2020’s ‘Tenet’, who inspired him to work on ‘Oppenheimer.’
“Yeah, Rob, off the back of Tenet, where we refer to Oppenheimer, and I had wrote a thing about this incredible moment that Oppenheimer and the scientist of the Manhattan Project had where they could not completely eliminate the possibility that when they triggered that first gadget, that first atomic device, they might start the chain reaction that would destroy the world.”
After having worked with Robert Pattinson, Cristopher Nolan could not stop thinking about bringing the history of the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, to the silver screen.Today, ‘Oppenheimer’ is finally available in theaters all over the world on July 20 and it is safe to say that history will be made. Watch the trailer below:
