Christopher Nolan is currently gaining a lot of attention online due to the anticipation around ‘Oppenheimer’ which premieres on July 20 in cinemas all around the world. In addition, it looks like he is already thinking about his next film and there is a small chance that it will be set in the Star Wars universe.
As part of the promotional campaign for ‘Oppenheimer’, the acclaimed British director was interviewed by YouTuber Hugo Travers on July 16 and answered a couple of questions about his work and career. At one point, Travers asked him about the possibility of directing superhero movies again after having directed ‘The Dark Knight Trilogy’ and his answer was a resounding “No.”
On the other hand, Nolan might have dropped hints about his possible involvement with the Star Wars universe. The interviewer also asked him if he would be willing to work on the franchise and he contemplated his answer for a while before saying “Pass” which led many fans to believe that he could direct a Star Wars movie soon.
Although it is uncertain if this will ever happen, Christopher Nolan already has the experience to direct Sci-Fi movies and if that was not enough, he has also admitted to being a big Star Wars fan. It seems like the only thing that he needs to do is reach out to George Lucas and Disney to make it a reality. Watch the interview below:
