Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received another low blow as Netflix recently announced that they will be halting all the couple’s projects until further notice. The reasons behind the decision are the current Writers Guild of America and the SAG-AFTRA strikes which are currently affecting Hollywood.
Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a multi-million dollar contract with the streaming giant, a source told The Telegraph that the royal couple is reportedly finding it “tough” to move forward with their Netflix projects due to all the strikes so they decided to halt them until further notice.
At the end of the day, writers and actors are an essential part of the creation of any audiovisual project so it will be impossible for Netflix and the controversial couple to release any content if the strikes do not end soon. As a result, putting all the productions on hold is the most reasonable course of action at the moment.
It was previously reported that Meghan Markle wanted to create a TV show focused on empowering women while Prince Harry was preparing a solo documentary about African people. However, those projects won’t be able to be released or even enter production until the studios reach an agreement with the writers’ and actors’ guilds.
