Rick and Michonne from The Walking Dead will have their own spin-off series

Recently, the fans of the zombified universe of ‘The Walking Dead‘ were hyped by the good news that the iconic characters from the original series, Rick and Michonne, will have their own spin-off, just like Negan and Maggie in ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City‘. In this new just announced project, the couple will face new challenges and adventures together, focusing their coexistence.

The news were confirmed by AMC, who also revealed that the show will star Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, the original actors of the two charecters from the series, which definitively excited the whole fandom. In the original series, Rick and Michonne meet each other and shortly after, they fall in love and enroll in a relationship. They fight together against the army of Negan and of course the numerous waves of zombies.

Scott M. Gimple, the ‘The Walking Dead’ writer, confessed that this new series will be a rather unique love story. “The series goes from extreme to extreme between the intimate, the epic and the insane”, he said to ‘Talking Dead‘. “This is a couple that has been separated for a long time. They have lived completely different existences and have to meet again. Hopefully, it will be mind-blowing” he added.

The series will be called ‘Rick and Michonne‘, and it’s expected to release in early 2024. The two characters from the series had a long history, however, looks like their storyline can extend a bit further, and now, this new spin-off will show us how the couple working together inside this zombified cinematographic universe. New adventures, scenes never seen before that cover events from the original series, and of course a new love story between Rick and Michonne.
