The director who has worked in sagas such as Star Wars and Star Trek, has been one of the people who has confirmed that he has been working with Mattel in the Hot Wheels movie, and that he is already very clear that this movie will have a surprising and striking plot like none seen before. This means a big step for Mattel, which has begun to venture into the film industry, starting with the release of the Barbie movie on July 20.

In an interview with The New Yorker, director J.J. Abrams revealed that, “For a long time we were in talks with Mattel about Hot Wheels, and we hadn’t been able to do something that would work, or something that would feel that if the movie is made, it would be worth it for what this franchise means and what its name is in the world market”.
