A few months ago, it was announced that Liam Hemsworth was chosen to replace Henry Cavill in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ after the latter decided to leave the show due to creative differences. In addition, it looks like Liam is not taking the task of bringing Geralt of Rivia to life lightly as he is reportedly training non-stop to have a better body than Henry.
Although The Witcher’s fans were not hesitant to show their discontent due to Henry Cavill’s departure, some of them are now convinced that the Australian actor will do a good job and he will show the world that he is worthy of filling the British actor’s shoes.
Last week, Joey Batey, who portrayed Jaskier in the series, was interviewed by GamesRadar and revealed that he has not met Liam yet. However, they have been in contact with each other through emails and have widely discussed the ‘The Witcher’ books and their role in the show:
“I’ve been in contact with him. We’ve been emailing, we’ve been exchanging our favorite quotes from the books and things like that. I don’t think any of us are in the position to advise on playing Geralt but he’s throwing himself into it. His training regime is insane and he’s been devouring the books.”
It will not be an easy task to top Henry Cavill’s performance as Geralt of Rivia but Batey’s comments are reassuring to the fan community as it is clear that Liam Hemsworth is working very hard to live up to everyone’s expectations.
