Taehyung, a member of the famous K-Pop group BTS has worried his fans after a recent announcement from the brand he represents, CELINE, where the fashion house decided to cancel an important event that could have taken place in France due to the protests that are in the country.
After the tragic death of a 17-year-old Algerian-Moroccan boy at the hands of a policeman, the city of Paris is in the middle of chaos, due to protests against police violence and racism in the country. These riots have caused a lot of damage to the city and numerous arrests.
Due to these difficulties that France is experiencing, the current creative director of CELINE, Hedi Slimane announced through his social networks that the CELINE Homme Summer 24 event that could have taken place on July 2nd was canceled for the safety of models and attendees in these circumstances that the country is living.
For his part, Taehyung was in Paris since June 30th waiting for the day of the event and anxious for his awaited participation, which never happened. Slimane expressed in his cancellation statement the following:
“it would be very out of place and inconsiderate if the fashion show were to take place, and although it was very hard for him, this decision was necessary to ensure the safety of the team and guests“.
