NCT’s Chenle and Haechan under fire for shaming their partner Jeno about his weight

Two of the famous idols Chenle and Haechan members of the world renowned K-Pop boy group, NCT, are receiving a strong wave of criticism from the group’s fans due to ‘jokes’ they have made towards their groupmate Jeno.

After the release of a recent behind-the-scenes video of NCT Dream group’s performance at the M COUNTDOWN event, fans criticized the comments made by both artists towards their groupmate where they criticized his physique and said he should go on a diet.

“If I get any thinner, there will be nothing left but bones“, said Jeno saddening his fans with this response to the shaming comments he received.

Fans have catalogued the comments as ‘body shaming‘ and have been sharing the video where the idols made fun of their groupmate’s overweight and incite him to “work out” on social media generating a lot of complaints from netizens causing great debate on the physical standards of the K-Pop industry.

Although Mark and Chenle continued to make fun of the singer’s physique, the NCT Dream group members later explained that these comments were only to see Jeno’s tender reaction and claimed that their words were said with love.

These statements failed to please the fans who criticized the group members for the comments towards Jeno’s physique, which despite being joking fall under ‘body shaming’ the practice of making fun of others’ bodies.
