It recently came to light that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were having some trouble with the British press, as they insist that the press has even illegally tapped their phones to obtain information. Meghan Markle scores a resounding victory against the British press.
The British regulator of the written press, ruled that an opinion column against Meghan Markle published last December 2022 by The Sun, and which raised a huge wave of more than 25,000 complaints, violated the journalistic code so, as punishment, the newspaper had to publicize the ruling.
In the controversial article attacking the Duchess of Sussex, the presenter Jeremy Clarkson said he felt a deep hatred for Prince Harry’s wife, and that he dreamed “of the day when she will parade naked through the streets of every town in the UK, while the crowds shout ‘Shame!’ and throw excrement at her”.
The independent Press Standards Organization, which is funded by its own media members, partially upheld complaints from two feminist organizations by concluding that the article was sexist, as it contained “a pejorative and prejudicial reference to the Duchess’s sex”.
Since Harry and Meghan’s relationship became public, the press has not left them alone, even in statements, the prince said that he has ended romantic relationships because of the harassment of the press, since they questioned his safety.
