King Charles III is NOT going to be crowned as King during the second coronation in Scotland, will there be a replacement?

King Charles III was crowned as the new sovereign of the United Kingdom a few weeks ago in an event that was watched by millions of people all over the world and it is considered a huge success. Although not many people know this, a second coronation ceremony will also be held in Scotland, however, it was recently revealed that Charles is not going to be crowned as King which led many people to wonder if there will be a replacement.

After the news broke, different social media channels were immediately flooded with speculations, rumors, and theories about King Charles III’s possible replacement. Despite this, the explanation is pretty simple: Charles was already crowned as the King of Scotland during the first coronation ceremony and the second one is just a symbolic tradition to strengthen his ties with the Scottish people.

On July 5, King Charles III and Queen Camila are going to be presented with the Honours of Scotland which include King James V’s Crown, a Scepter, and the Sword of State in a ceremony that will take place at St. Gilles Cathedral.

This tradition has been kept for hundreds of years and the last time a British monarch was presented with the Scottish Crown Jewels was the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. At the time, she was not crowned as the Queen either as she had already received that title during the first coronation ceremony.
