When one thinks of royalty, one can always observe the luxury and the great class that they have, so it is assimilated that they have large amounts of money, accumulating millionaire fortunes, but not everything is so, as recently, it is revealed that King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker were on the verge of bankruptcy.
According to the most recent ‘Sovereign Grant’ report, the British crown increased its expenses by 5% compared to the previous year, becoming the most “expensive” for the monarchs, King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker, being on the verge of economic collapse. Last Thursday, the royal institutions shared their annual statement, covering the financial period from April 2022 to March this year.
The declaration reports showed that members of the royal family spent a total of $136 million, a significant increase of 5% to 2022. Of this large amount of money, only $108.9 million was covered by the Sovereign Grant, so the monarchs had to supplement the remaining money from their reserve funds.
As the official royal website points out, this year’s statement of accounts covered significant events, such as the platinum jubilee, the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and of course the preparations for the coronation of the new kings of England.
